When my head feels like a basketball…

…I take my time with running.

I almost didn’t go, because I woke up at 7 feeling awful!!  But once I ate breakfast, I just felt like moving.  A little.  So I went for a 3-mile run at a very slow pace which left me feeling a little more energetic and more ‘normal.’  I like to follow the guideline of running if I feel okay from the neck down, not feverish, and as long as I have the energy and drive to do it.  So glad I did! 😀

When my head feels like a basketball…

…I’m really forgetful and scattered!

Which explains the missing lunch photos!!  I went to a great sushi restaurant with a college friend, and ordered 3 rolls.  It was 90 degrees out but felt so much cooler in the outdoor seating area due to a nice breeze coming in.  😀  And the sushi was amazing…I ordered my favorites at this place: sweet potato roll, buddha roll (with honey roasted peanuts and avocado…sounds weird, tastes amazing!), and a california roll.  It was all served with miso soup and a side salad with ginger dressing.  It looked as pretty as it tasted good.  Unfortanetly I don’t have photos to prove it, and you’re just going to have to blame it on this darn head cold!!! 😉

When my head feels like a basketball…

…it’s an extra special treat to come with dinner already on the table! 😀

I didn’t feel like doing anything tonight, as I came home and pretty much collapsed on the seat.  I have absolutely no energy, which is how I know I’m not feeling well. 😉  Thankfully my appetite isn’t shot, which means I’m still getting some much needed nutrients and fuel in.  Tonight, cod was on the menu, along with grilled onions on top, broccoli and rice on the side.  Everything was delicious!

+ Pineapple chobani for dessert…my fave flavor by far!!!  I think lemon should be next on the list of flavors for chobani to make. 😀

+ Trader Joe’s Raisin bran with milk for a snack tonight…

I’m so sorry for such a short post and not catching up on all of your lovely blogs these past couple of days…I’m feeling better then I was last night, so hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be good as new. 😉  I have an early morning at the hospital, but after that I’ll be home and relaxing, finishing up on homework assignments, and catching up on your blogs…finally! 😀

Hope you’re all off to a great start with the new week!! 😀

  1. Aww I’m sorry your not feeling good! I’ve had a sore throat all day- it stinks!

When you say from the neck down does that mean like sore throat, stuffy nose is ok to run? I’ve always wondered if exercising when your sick is ok!

And they have sweet potato rolls?? Where I have I been??

    • Yep, it’s pretty much based on the above vs. below the neck idea. If, for example, I’m having trouble breathing (due to, say, bronchitis or something) or if I’m coughing severely, I won’t exercise. It can be hard on the body, especially since you’re demanding more oxygen while exercising and are having trouble getting it in the first place! 😉

If its a sore throat, runny nose, etc., then I’ll still go out as long as my body is feeling up to it. And as long as there’s no fever or anything involved either.

      Hope you’re feeling better too!!

  2. Hope you’re feeling a bit better today. I follow that same rule… sick above the neck – run! Otherwise stay home. I find that since I’ve been a runner my colds are less severe and hang around less often. Hope that’s true for you too!

  3. Aw, feel better soon!

I love pineapple Chobani too; in fact I have an empty right in front of me! Not that I care about this, but I wonder why I can only find it in 2%, not 0%, and I see yours is 2% too. Maybe they just figure pineapple is too good to make it fat free. 🙂
