In addition to completing my final chemistry course and entering my senior year of college, here are some other of my most favorite things of 2009!
Completing my first 10k race in under an hour with my favorite running partner—aka, dad.

Discovering new breakfast foods through the Week Long Breakfast Challenge that many of you joined in on!

Getting cabin fever in the summer, and taking a spontaneous trip to Maine to soak in some vitamin D and ride the waves.

Spending time with these 2 goobers!

Girly advice from this girl. Love you Nicole!

This may sound silly, but I’m happy to have learned a lesson in keeping things balanced with running! Not too much, not too litte—and remembering to RICE my injuries (Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate.)

Finally finding a pair of sneakers that fit right!!

Spending family vacation in NH for the week.

Hiking Mt. Osceola in the White Mountains, NH.

Picking a TON of blueberries and eating them in all sorts of creative ways!!

Doing an overnight hike in the White Mountains, NH—Mt. Garfield. And still managing to eat oats on top of a mountain.

Celebrating my cousin’s 30th birthday—hawaii style.

Picking 24 lbs. worth of strawberries (which reminds me that there are still some sitting in the freezer!)

Taking Dad to Osaka (one of the best sushi restaurants around) for Father’s Day since we both share a love for good sushi.

Volunteering with the Registered Dietitians at the hospital and creating educational posters on caffeine and kids + health tips on ordering coffee to-go.

Walking with mom during summer school break—every single morning. We pounded some serious miles!
“Mountain running”

Being silly with the sister, which included countless visits to coffee shops and malls. I still think I should have bought the hat and Nicole should have bought the sunglasses.

Many bike rides with dad for the exercise, outdoor time and icecream.

Spending the day in Gloucester, visiting the “seven seas” and reminiscing about my freshman year of college that was spent there!
GOALS FOR 2010
-
Complete my first half marathon

Graduate with a bachelors degree in nutrition

Either get accepted to an internship or land a job that will offer experience so I can try again next year
-
Hike a few more 4k ft’ers in NH over the summer
-
Read at least a chapter in the Bible every morning

Practice yoga 2-3 times a week—I’ve been majorly slacking on this the past couple months!
-
Continuing to learn how to live in the moment.

Good luck with your resolutions! Happy New Year!
What a great year and great list of new goals! I feel like I figured out the running balance at the end of the year, and I am so happy that I did. I think I was too eager with my running before!
My fave things of 2009 was my first half marathon and going skiing in CO. And spending more time at home with my husband. I am also trying to live more in the moment this year. That is actually my one big goal!
We have a lot of the same goals
I’m also happy to have completed a race with my dad (and find shoes that fit right!)
