I’ve been tagged!

I woke up really cranky this morning.  It’s really unsual for me, since the morning is my favorite time of the day.  Usually I’ll wake up refreshed and excited for a new day (and breakfast too of course! 😀 )

But not today.  I uttered a low and deep ‘morning’ to my dad as he went to his office for his morning project.  I think he knew there were rain clouds overhead because he closed the door behind him. ha… 😀  I decided there was only one way to save my day (and everyone elses’ for that matter) from being ruined.

Run.

So I did.  I had planned a short 2-mile.  Just enough to get the grumpies out.  But as I fell into this rythm, I couldn’t turn around at the 2-miler and turned it into a 3-miler.  As always, my jumbled thoughts and emotions cleared right up.  There was no reason for me to be grumpy, but somehow running always relaxes me.  I felt so good after and I’ve been in a good mood ever since.

The food highlight of the weekend was icecream and pizza yesterday (of course), and today’s meal on the grill.  Steamed broccoli and caulifower, grilled potatoes, and grilled vegetarian fed, no-hormones added, no antibiotics used, grilled cajun chicken.  Is it just me or does natural meat just taste better?

The highlight of the meal though, was the grilled potatoes.  This is a no fail recipe.  Just spray the double-sheeted foil packet, throw on some diced potatoes, and sprinkle liberally with cajun, garlic powder, paprika, and salt & pepper.  Drizzle on a T. of olive oil (for 3 medium potatoes), stir around, and throw it on the grill for about 15-20 minutes.  Perfect.  Love the crispy peices… 😀

I just realized last night as I was turning off my computer…I’ve been tagged by Boo’s Kitchen and the Healthy Everythingtarian.  I was pretty excited and contemplated restarting my computer to get to it right away. 

But I didn’t want to rush it so I figured I’d just get to it today instead. 😀

This is typically where I blog.  It’s not too exciting of a spot, which is why I love it when the weather clears up and I can move myself and my computer outdoors!  The “coffee table” is a new peice of furniture my dad made, and the perfect spot for it is still trying to be discovered.  It seems to like it in front of my blogging spot though… 😉

What are you wearing right now? blue shorts, pink polo and a purple AE hoodie.  And flip flops, my shoes of choice for the summer. 😀

 

What’s the last thing you read/are currently reading? Currently reading The Omnivore’s Dilemna.  I love Michael Pollan!

 

Do you nap a lot? Nope.  I do go through spurts though.  In my freshman year of college, I would nap at 2 in the afternoon, for 1/2 hr every single day.  It was great. 😀  Now, I don’t seem to nap as often, although I’ll sometimes do the occasional nap if I need it. 

 

Who was the last person you hugged? Does it have to be a person, because I think my sister’s cats might be on this list.  They’re such cuddle bugs. haha… 😀  No, but actually that would go to my mom as being the last person to hug. 😀

 

What’s your current obsession/addiction? Food-wise: oatmeal, granola, and green monsters!  Non-food-wise: Running, gardening, journaling.

 

What the last thing you bought? A movie ticket.

 

What are you listening to right now? The microwave buzzing.

 

What time do you usually wake up? My body usually wakes me up around 7’ish.  Sometimes 8.  During the school year, I’ll be up by 5:30.

 

Name one thing you can’t live without? My running sneakers.  They keep me sane. 😉

 

What time is bedtime? Usually 10:30-11:00.  I’m typically an early bird!

 

If there was one place you could be right now, where would it be? Pairs…at a cafe, drinking a cappucino and eating a biscotti. 😀
