I kind of feel as if I just came off of a weekend long vacation. Why? I didn’t do a thing. Nowhere to go, nowhere to be, nothing to do. It was very, very strange. Do I feel guilty about not doing any homework or being productive? Not in the slightest.
As a senior in college looking back over the past 4 years, I’ve finally noticed this pattern about myself. I work hard core all the way up until finals start approaching. Then I either come down with a cold (I blame this on lack of sleep!) or I just become tired overall (I also blame this on lack of sleep.) This usually happens two or three weeks before my first final, and I’ve learned to kind of just roll with it. I take it as my chance to walk away from homework so that I can go back feeling refreshed and ready for that final push. It works for me. 😉
That being said, I have a lot of catching up to do today! First things first…
A glass of milk with a Chocolate-Lover’s Breakfast Cookie!! With the addition of 1/4 c. each of wheatbran and canned pumpkin. Talk about volume!
I would love, love, love to fit in a bike ride this morning too. I’m such a wimp when it comes to cold temps (40F) and biking, but I seriously need to overcome this. Summer won’t be officially around for a little while yet, so I need to slowly introduce some biking into my regimen. Any tips on biking in the “cold”?
Off to be productive!! 😀
Question: Do you ever have “catch up days”? Do you plan them or do they just sort of happen? What kinds of things do you like to do as a way of catching up? Usually they come entirely unplanned for me, but I can definitely tell when my body needs them. And as far as what to do? Again, usually it’s totally unplanned, but involves doing lots of…nothing. Just relaxing and doing what I enjoy most in life (journaling, cooking, hanging out with the sister, etc.) It’s good for the body to rest sometimes. 😀
Wow, I think I soon have to try this infamous breakfast cookie.
Catching up = story of my life. I am behind in everything all the time 😦
I have catch up days all the time. It helps when I get lazy (which is A LOT) 😉
I had lots of do this weekend but none of it was particularly productive. I loved just giving myself a break!
Cold weather tip – layer up!! 🙂
The chocolate bfast cookie looks great! I wasn’t as productive this weekend but the break was nice.
That’s funny that you get sick right before finals most years… because I’m just getting better from a pretty bad cold, and finals start next week!
It was nice to just lounge and watch tv even when there was homework to be done! I needed the break 🙂
Ps i’m determined to make a delicious breakfast cookie this summer! yours always look sooooo good!!
oh i just love it when i come back from a weekend and it feels like i have been gone for a long time-great feeling. not feeling that today though 😦
Usually on my catch up days I’m cleaning and lounging! Time for me to relax.
ps that cookie looks to DIE for! I’m cutting chocolate out of my diet this week but after this week is over I’m ALL over that!
i do have catch up days! they are usually mondays after work esp sicne I live at my BFs house ont eh weekends, I trudge lots of clothes and laundry back and forth!

mmm, that giant chocolate bfast cookie is a thing of beauty! i think i need to plan a catch up day, i feel so behind.. but there is no time to catch up! xoxo
Catching up days include extra sleep, laundry and personal care — manicure, pedicure and the like. I need one now but will have to wait until this weekend.
