Happy 4th!!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

My day in five words: Family.  Friends.  Food.  Volleyball.  Campfires…

…and a deliciously patriotic breakfast (that makes it six words, doesn’t it?)

Patriotic Oats

  • 1/4 c. oatbran
  • 1/4 c. wheatbran
  • 1 c. milk + 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 banana, sliced thinly
  • toppings: sliced strawberries, sweetened coconut (about 1 T), and fresh blueberries…+ a scoop of peanut butter

Enjoyed outdoors on the deck.

Today was perfect.  Sunny.  Summery.  Full of fun.  And I really don’t want it to end which is why I’m just now going to head outside to enjoy the campfire. 😀

Question: What is your favorite holiday?  Fourth of July is actually up there for me.  It’s so simple (and I love that it’s in the summer!!!)  Thanksgiving is up there on my list too.

  1. Happy 4th! Yours sounds amazing. I’m a little (ehem a LOT) jealous of your campfire, I haven’t experienced one at all this summer! Sad, no?

My fav holidays are probably Thanksgiving and Christmas. Pretty typical!

  2. The coconut on that oatmeal looks divine, and makes for a perfect white ingredient for the fourth.

My favorite holiday as a kid was always Passover, since we get together with a lot of family. Now I’d say that Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish new year – is probably my favorite because I reflect a lot about my past and think about changes I want to make for the coming years. (I always seem to choose Jewish holidays over American ones as favorites. Huh.)

  3. hey girlie!!

    xoxo!
