Apparently, whoever said that summer vacation is a time when things slow down did not take a peak at my schedule.
I’m not complaining—not one bit! I love staying busy and having a schedule that’s packed to the brim with activities, family get-togethers and other such things. And at least I still have time for biking and oats (aka, the important things of life 😉 ).
- 1/4 c. oatbran
- 1/4 c. wheatbran
- 1-1/2 tsp chia seeds
- 1 c. milk + 3/4 c. water
- 1 sliced banana
- cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger
- toppings: 1/4 the banana, 2 T. Natures Promise Pumpkin Flax Granola, scoop of crunchy salted teddy peanut butter
Pure perfection in a bowl. 😀
This bowl was as perfect as perfect can be due to these speckled bananas. So ripe and sweet! 😀
Right now I have a big batch of baked beans sitting in the oven, which I’m cooking up for my Memere. I went with her yesterday to see a Registered Dietitian who is hoping to help her gain some weight, and my memere commented that one thing she would enjoy eating right now would be baked beans. The only problem is that I’ve never ever made homemade beans before. The recipe that my Memere gave me seems simple enough, but only time will tell. I only hope the smells being emitted from the dutch oven is a telltale sign. We’ll find out!
Question: Is summer usually slower or busier for you (or does it stay relatively the same)? Busy, busy, BUSY!
(p.s. Tonight I’ll post my Life’s To Do List…I’m so excited to have it completed! )
I don’t know how people can eat bananas that AREN’T ripe like that. They taste so bland otherwise!
That bowl looks scrumptious!
These days summer is slower for us. Around the holidays is our “busy season.” But I guess we’re always busy, I just don’t notice the difference, lol. 🙂

My summer is usually busy busy busy!
I like my bananas super ripe too 😉
I can’t wait to hear your to do list— I need to make one 😉
Summer is getting busier for me too! When I’m in school, I wish I was working. When I’m working, I wish I was in school. Gahh
I love my bananas speckled too!
Your breakfast looks indeed like a perfect breakfast, mmm!
Good luck with the busy things!

My summer slows down 10 fold. My job is so go, go, go, that I relish the 2 months I have to recharge and gear up for another school year.
Oooh, i could just dive into that bowl!
i am always way busier in the summer. a good busy, though!
can’t wait for the baked beans – i’ve never made my own either, but i bet i’d like them way better than canned 🙂
your breakfasts are so delicious looking! i love when my summers are busy, i hate sitting around doing nothing!
stays the same. i am 40 hours a week.. year round!
mhmm those are some good lookin oats!
It is wayyy too hot over here to be eating oats unfortunately =( 39 degrees today!!
I can’t wait to see your list!! And let me know how your beans come out. I’ve never made them either, but I’d like to try. Nate is a huge baked bean fan, and I’d rather serve him homemade beans than canned ones.
I can’t wait to see your list! How fun! And how the baked beans came out… I love baked beans and perfect to go with summer BBQ!
Have a great day!
my month of june is PACKED. i love that summer is busy, but sometimes a girl just wants to lay out at the beach and get some sun, ya know? can’t wait to see how the baked beans turned out. happy (almost) weekend!!!
